Wow! I was nominated for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Kristin at Run, Runner Girl, Run!ย Thanks so much. I never thought when I started doing this that I would meet so many awesome people out there chasing the same dreams as I am. WP is a real community for me and I look forward to reading all the posts you all write! Thanks to all of you for reading my ramblings too ๐Ÿ™‚

Aaaw shucks, Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

As an award recipient, there are rules to follow. They are:

  • Display the award logo on your blog.
  • Link back to the person who nominated you.
  • State 7 things about yourself.
  • Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them.
  • Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the awardโ€™s requirements.

So here are the 7 things about myself:

1. I love vegemite like crazy.

Only the best thing in the world to eat. Ever.

Vegemite is one of those things that I can’t live without. When I was living in Japan with my sister, things would get extremely tense when stocks of vegemite got low. My obsession started when I was teething. My mum would put a teaspoon of vegemite in ย my mouth to stop me from chewing on a dummy. It became a sort of treat for us. Quite often the three of us girls would sit in front of the tv, each with a teaspoon of vegemite hanging out of our mouths. I literally will not travel overseas without it and will often just put a bit on my finger and eat it if I am homesick when away. It always makes me feel better ๐Ÿ™‚

2. I think star signs are a bunch of crap.

This might offend some, but I think you are who you are because of your parents, your peers, your environment and your drive and determination. Not the month you were born in. Puhlease…..

3. I hate getting rained on.

Some people like it, but the slightest sprinkle of rain makes me get angry. It is so weird as I love taking a shower, but getting rained on really upsets me. One explanation is that despite not being particularly fashion oriented, I like to look good. Nobody looks good after a being caught in a deluge. It messes your hair, your clothes, everything. Ugh.

4. Peas are not real food.

My mum still says in mock amazement “oh you are eating greens these days!” whenever I eat any green vegetable. This stems from an obsessive hatred of peas from when I was a kid. I used to go to extraordinary lengths to hide peas instead of eating them. Under the table, in the bookcase behind our dining table, in my shoes, in my socks, fed to the dog. When I got busted doing that, I was forced to sit at the table till they were all eaten. Sigh! To this day, I still hate them and say I am allergic to them to get out of eating them. I don’t think you can even be allergic to them….

5. If I was a bit nerdier, I would study physics so I could be an Astronomer.

I love space. I love the idea of learning more about space. I would seriously travel to space or any other planet if I could. I geek out about it a lot. The universe is so interesting!! Yeah, I have Cosmos. I also think it’s feasible for other life forms to exist out there somewhere. No, I don’t believe aliens are amongst us.

6. My hair is prematurely grey.

I have to colour my hair every four weeks as it is grey. Not a little bit. A lot. I freaking hate it so much, I fret about it, so I keep on top of it. I colour it almost black as a protest to the grey.

7. People always tell me I look younger than I am.

I take this as a compliment. I was asked for id for every nightclub I stepped foot into until my early 30s. (The legal drinking age here is 18). It could be because I colour my hair ๐Ÿ™‚ My mum also looked super young for ages so it must be genetic. Thanks Mum!

And now for my nominations: (in no particular order!!)

It’s all your posts that make my days so much better. I cherish my WP community as there are so many inspiring people out there. Thanks to all of you for making my life richer ๐Ÿ™‚
